Thanksgiving 2008

What a wonderful holiday weekend we had!  It started out with the boys helping me in the kitchen.  As it is with any of our endeavors involving food, their goal was to make as big a mess as possible.  Somehow we managed to meet my goal as well, and a yummy gluten-free pumpkin pie was born.

The boys love being around family, and Thanksgiving day with the Goldens was a great opportunity to do just that.  The boys met their new cousin Jacob and I got a chance to spend some great bonding time with that little cutie.  Uncle Tim was kind enough to play with both of them so Mommy and Daddy could have a break.  He and Lucas also had some serious snuggling time as we all listened to music together.

After a great meal provided by GaGa, a lot of playtime, and only one out of two kids taking a nap, Pop-pop shared their first Christmas cartoon with them in the evening.  I love that Frosty cartoon, and the boys liked it too.

It was a great Thanksgiving Day.  But the festivities did not end there!  On Friday it was off to the Heldmans for feast #2!  Aunt Jen made the best sweet potatoes I’ve EVER tasted and Megan totally amazed me with her incredible baking skills, including a gluten-free cheesecake, which Lucas kept calling a Cheeseburger Pie.

The absolute highlight for the boys was spending time with their cousins.  Katie played with the boys the entire time, earning the title of Best Babysitter Ever!  She had so much fun, she came home with us, which might have been the highlight of their weekend, or maybe their life.

There were plenty of cuddles to go around – for Joey, Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Jen.

In the end, everyone huddled together to listen to some of Noah’s music.  What a nice way to end the evening.

Ethan pretty much summed up the night as he exclaimed “I can FEEL the LOVE!”
