Sesame Street Live, Take Two

This weekend was the big outing to Sesame Street Live. If you are not familiar with the show, it involves life-sized Sesame Street characters onstage at the Sports Arena singing and dancing and weaving tales of mystery and intrigue. Well, mostly it's the singing and dancing. In fact, this year's show included Abby Cadabby singing a cover of Vanessa Carlton's "A Thousand Miles" as well as Cookie Monster banging out some Creedence Clearwater Revival. Rock on.

This is officially a family tradition now, as we have attended two years in a row. We've been really lucky to get free tickets (thanks Pop-Pop) and have brought some friends along as well.

It was so interesting to see the difference between the boys' reaction this year and last. Last year, it was all about bouncing to the music. I think they actually bounced throughout the entire first act. The second act was about chasing them through the aisles, as all interest had been lost.

This year, the boys sat nicely in their seats and watched attentively. They asked all sorts of questions as the show went on: "Where's Big Bird going, mommy?"; " What are the dancing green things, mommy?" (cactuses); "Can I sit with GaGa now, mommy?" Outside of Ethan getting his leg stuck in his seat for three harrowing minutes, it was a great time!

I wonder if we were at the same show? We were there Sat. morning. It looks like a lot of fun was had by all!
