Spring Has Sprung!

We've been treated to some beautiful sunny days out here in San Diego recently. Last weekend, in fact, was downright HOT! So it was the perfect opportunity to introduce the boys to their new water table! I went looking for this item specifically a couple of weeks ago at a swap meet because Ethan has been getting into any body of stagnant water he can find. Any puddle must be danced in, splashed in, and most disgustingly, he is driven to try to drink it as well. Thus, I thought I could put a positive spin on his water fascination by giving him his own place to play where he doesn't have to hear me cry "Ethan, NO!"

The table was a huge hit with both boys. It came with boats and a water wheel, and I found some toy sea creatures and nets for fishing.

It even received Ethan's official "WHOA!" of excitement:

We also visited Grandma and Grandpa at their house where it was in the 90s. That didn't stop the boys from trying to learn how to hit a baseball with the new T-ball set G&G got them.

When we needed a break from the heat, Grandma was happy to read with us, and Grandpa was happy to dance.

On Sunday, we hit the beach. My God, these boys love the water. The excitement, the laughter! Never mind that the water felt like it came from the polar ice caps; who cares if we are all shivering so much we can't talk! Here comes another wave - let's get as wet as possible!! It was a blast.

Note the aforementioned "Whoa!" of excitement:

After riding the waves, we enjoyed a well-deserved lunch and a 3 hour nap!! You will now find us at the beach every morning before nap. :)

It was a fabulous weekend in the sun. It really felt more like summer than spring, and just to prove that these little boys know how to enjoy it to the fullest, observe the first skinned knee of the Heldman twins.

Poor Lucas - you're a trooper!
