Ah, smell that crisp, smoke-filled air

Nothing says Autumn like checking the particulate matter concentration level to see if it's safe to go to the pumpkin patch.

After staying inside for almost a week because of the fires, we decided to brave the considerably improved air and take part in our Twins Club Fall Party. It was a lot of fun. As you may recall, Lucas is donning a racecar driver costume this Halloween, and he put on his best game face for the camera. He may not have the most impressive car in the race, but he can talk some serious trash.

I finally decided on train conductor for Ethan. He's pretty cute, but refused to wear the official train conductor bandana and refused to ride the train at the party. Oh well. Maybe he really was hoping for an oatmeal costume.

There is no doubt, however, that I picked the right costume for Lucas. He spent almost the entire party, and all of our ride tickets, going around in circles on a carnival ride where we are convinced he thought he was actually driving. I kid you not, every time he came around he had this look on his face:

In his nineteen months on this planet, he has never smiled so long and so hard as he did on this ride.

Ethan found a way to enjoy some wheels of his own.

And just for perspective, here is a picture of the boys at the very same pumpkin patch just a year ago:

And today:

My how they've grown!
