After several days of sunshine and warmer temperatures, I feel confident in bidding farewell to winter. Thus, a recap of this wonderful season we enjoyed with family, friends and snow!
New Year’s Eve was spent with the Hudsons and Babcocks, making pizza, playing Bingo, and watching everyone’s new favorite movie, Balto. The adults reveled in the fact that our children have reached an age where they can play safely and nicely together long enough that we can enjoy conversation, drink and sitting down. Yes, SITTING DOWN!! Hooray for 2010!!
We began 2010 with our annual trip to the car show. Accompanied by Aunt Jen and Cousin Katie, we enjoyed jumping in and out of cars, trucks, boats and jet skis. Always with a good eye for the most colorful vehicles, the boys explored what seemed like every inch of the convention center.
On a personal note, I have now officially seen all the car shows I ever need to see. Next year, Aunt Jen, Katie and I will spend the day at a spa.
A favorite activity this winter was going to Ryan and Lucie’s house and playing dress up. I think the pictures speak for themselves. Not sure what they say exactly…
It should be noted that the boys enjoyed a fun weekend with Daddy while Mommy flew to MN to cheer the Vikings on to a playoff victory!
But what would winter be without snow? So we headed up for our annual trip to Big Bear!! This year, however, we brought friends with us. Yes, the Hudsons and the Babcocks joined us at a beautiful cabin for days of snow play and nights of warm fires, movies and group bedtime stories. It was truly a fantastic time, with perfect weather, enjoyed immensely by all. Here are some highlights:
Arriving at the cabin:
Mr. Noah and Mr. Chris describing in dramatic detail – with the help of props – how they managed to dig out the VW with only a cutting board and their bare hands (until a nice man showed up with a shovel):
Group bedtime stories, brought to you by Miss Megan:
Tubing trains:
Backyard sledding:
Snowman making (and eating):
It was truly a wonderful time filled with snowy days and cozy nights. We were so glad to enjoy this time with friends!
So, Winter 2010, it is with fond memories and a warm heart that we move onto spring. Adieu!
